So as far as priority goes, they were similar. But I do wonder what difference it would have made.

Brian: thanks for the encouragement. I need to learn to make better tactical decisions based on the course.

Zeph: I'll try to use "dick dance" more often. Alex is like a poet with that phrase. I haven't had a win this season but podiums are nice. I am a similiar rider to yourself. I'm getting better at TTs. They make me harder to crack in a crit which is my strength. Sunday's TT was nice to just soft pedal as well...never done that. Came accross the line feeling warmed upand smiling...rare for a TT. That kid in the cat 3s is going to be a good one.
Anyways that crit was interesting and different than any i've done. That right turn was scary from the outside nevermind inside. I can't see ever taking that any other way but I weigh 193. I survived till 2 to go by being in the caboose there and making up a gap on that turn then reconnecting b4 the next left. I conserved by being last to the top of the climb....couldn't move up till after the start finish...that's how i stayed in the race till 2 to go.
I knew in the race that I wouldn't be a factor but for me to survive it was a victory in itself.
BTW, never won a cat 4 race and i never won a 3 race till a couple of years of cat 3s so give yourself a break. Riding down the hill with Nate Pack inthe RR. He's super strong. Anyways good luck and see u at the races. Gotta get back to work :).Boudiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14174506611671097012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-57209326998652590942010-06-22T10:50:53.511-06:002010-06-22T10:50:53.511-06:00SBJ, I say next time skip the Thursday night race ...SBJ, I say next time skip the Thursday night race and see how you feel. Well, I guess that depends on the priority of the race. Anyway, good result, especially for a self-confessed non-climber. That race is almost always lost, but not necessarily won, on the road race stage.JZhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09799409801284598416noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-78990711534382821422010-06-22T10:40:07.001-06:002010-06-22T10:40:07.001-06:00360: Results have been more consistent than last y...360: Results have been more consistent than last year, but I'm still winless. I would like to win something, anything this season.

Pat: No question I need to practice the TT and doing so would make me a better rider. Booth is scary fast. Nice work out there. You should try some compression socks next time, though.

Rabid: WRT Roubaix, yes and no. As in yes, I'm saying you shouldn't buy one, but no I'm not saying nobody should buy one. You shouldn't buy one because the Ruby is the women's model of that bike and would be a better fit for you (probably) than the men's model, assuming either was the best bike for your needs.

The Roubaix and similar endurance/comfort bikes are actually a great choice for most riders who don't race and a lot of riders who do. The position is more comfortable and the handling less twitchy than a Tarmac or other race bikes.

From a marketing standpoint, though, there is a certain segment that has to have a Pro Tour bike even though it's the wrong fit for them. Specialized can market the Roubaix as a Pro Tour bike because it's used in one race a year, so these guys can get what they want and what they need. Brilliant little bit of positioning on the part of Specialized, and they sell a lot of these bikes as a result.Ski Bike Junkiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12295969126174565599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-76041072966245924922010-06-22T10:24:49.422-06:002010-06-22T10:24:49.422-06:00So, are you saying I shouldn't buy a Roubaix? So, are you saying I shouldn't buy a Roubaix?Rabidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01910636993163166976noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-35114766108483095332010-06-22T10:21:44.522-06:002010-06-22T10:21:44.522-06:00By the way I talked to Mike Booth after the race, ...By the way I talked to Mike Booth after the race, He said he soft pedaled it and still beat us bothAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-64715440269304200832010-06-22T10:06:15.873-06:002010-06-22T10:06:15.873-06:00Mark,

I'm really glad that you mentioned it on your blog, otherwise i wouldn't have known about it.
There is a ITT every thursday night at 730 at vineyard park in orem, 10 k flat, and best of all its free. If you want to improve that time come race it. It doesn't look good for a fat cat 4 guy to beat you and your brother.
Looking forward to racing Capital Reef?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109501634336541211.post-27426845270840549832010-06-22T05:23:54.210-06:002010-06-22T05:23:54.210-06:00Awesome recap.
